Uzbekistan is a leading industrial country in Central Asia. Its economy
has been increasing for the last 6 years with a growing rate of 7%
and inflation rate for the last six years has reduced from 26% to
2,9%.The volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the reporting
period made up 13.123 trillion sums.
The country was not affected by the global crises and thanks to the
rise of the prices of its main export commodities the country kept
growing. Uzbekistan exports natural gas and its reserves are estimated
at more than one trillion cubic meters. Gold is one of its main and
most strategic resources: during the Soviet era Uzbekistan accounted
for one-third of USSR gold production and in the country is located
the largest gold mine in the world. The agriculture is dominated
by the cotton production: the country is the second largest cotton
exporter and the fifth largest world producer.
