Uzbek Agriculture Ministry attracts investments for US$77.68m in Jan-Sep 19 October 2011 10:07:42 +5 GMT

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of Uzbekistan attracted foreign investments for US$77.68 million in nine months of 2011, the Department of attracting foreign investments and projects monitoring of the Ministry said.

ITE Uzbekistan is announcing the launch of the Aqua-Therm exhibition in Tashkent. Aqua-Therm Tashkent will be a unique event in Uzbekistan for heating, water and ventilation systems, sanitary ware and pool equipment. The first edition of Aqua-Therm Tashkent will be held alongside with UzBuild, the country's leading construction exhibition, from 28 February to 2 March next year.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Some 1.777 trillion soums or 21.6% of total volume of investments utilized in the non-production sphere in Uzbekistan were used in housing construction, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In January-June 2011, total volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in national currency was 8.255 billion soums.

The Mayor's Office of Tashkent and Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have signed an Istisna'a Contract (a contractor's agreement providing funding for a specific amount of work) and an Istisna'a Agency Agreement to provide funding of $35.37 million for a period of 15 years, including a 4-year grace period, for the Tashkent Sewerage Project.

The World Bank and the Government of Uzbekistan signed a credit agreement for US$88 million, which will improve water supply service in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan.
The credit is issued due to resources of International Development Association and more than 340 000 people in Uzbekistan will benefit from it.
